Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom serves approximately 380 students; it is a resource of support for every wonderful student on our campus. 85-90% of our students come from low income homes and reside in areas affected by community violence. Our students have also experienced the traumas of numerous fires on top of their own unique struggles. The stressors our students face can be obstacles to their social-emotional and academic success, yet our students find comfort, hope and self-confidence at our school.
Our students love their school because it is full of love, kindness, compassion, and support!
That being said, many of our students do not have access to many resources outside of the school system. With your help, we can create a wellness room that will provide meaningful outlets and opportunities for our students to experience improved mental health and overall well-being. Please help us create a warm and supportive environment that will help our students thrive even in the face of challenges!
My Project
Creating a sense of connection amongst students is incredibly important for their well being and academic motivation. Many students gather in the wellness room to feel a sense of safety and community. The games, books, and craft supplies obtained from this fundraiser will be used for relationship building experiences within my classroom.

Every item gathered from this platform will be used directly by my students during lunch bunches, group counseling sessions, one-one interventions, and classroom lessons. Your help will provide positive school experiences for many students. I am so grateful for your consideration.
