My students need Monopoly Junior and Monopoly Speed Games to practice financial literacy and math skills. My students need reward prizes for our classroom store to support our classroom economy system.
My students are in 3rd- 5th grades in a self-contained setting for students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities. Students with these disabilities need help with emotional regulation in a small class setting through social skills training to equip them with the skill set needed to mainstream back into a general education classroom.
My students are a diverse group of learners coming from different neighborhoods, cultures, and economic levels.
Students are brought in from an extended area for behavior intervention. All of my students are in need of social skills instruction and interventions before returning to the general education classroom.
My students are at-risk and that requires us to think out of the box to make them successful in the classroom. My students need accommodations and modifications to the traditional learning environment to show their success.
My Project
My students need games and reward reinforcers to put our financial literacy skills into practice in the classroom. Games such as Monopoly are great for sneaking in those finical literacy lessons and math skills practice while still providing fun and engaging lessons.
With our classroom economy system, students are paid with Manatee Money (our school mascot) to promote work ethic.
The manatee money can be used to buy classroom rewards such as emoji bracelets, slap bracelets, light up sticks, and a variety of other products that are stocked in our classroom store. Students have to make very real life relevant choices of spending their money or saving for events such as movie hour or game time.
We are in need of items to restock our classroom store as well as games to promote financial literacy during our game time block. Classrooms should be engaging and learning should be exciting! Students learn best when they are practicing what they learn.
