This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been shopping at my classroom store every Friday since last school year. In my math small group, students turn in their “Kindness Cash” for paper money and make purchases from the classroom store. What they purchase all depends on the level of individual performance. This is all about positive reinforcement.

Since introducing the “Kindness Cash” system in my classroom, my students are noticeably more engaged in their work and they are now actively participating.

They are demonstrating kind actions throughout the day and they are continuously being reminded to make positive choices at school in order to stack up their “kindness cash”. This system has proven to be successful in keeping my students on track at school, but it does cost me quiet a bit to fund. This is where the support of Donors, like yourself, can ensure that this system stays reinforcing for everyone.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. If my students have something to work towards they will maintain their persistence.
