This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
“Everything we do as teachers must ensure that the child’s inherent desire to learn is kept alive.” ~ Robert John Meehan
My group of 3rd grade students has a passion for learning; their drive and excitement for learning more is truly inspiring.
Our school is 98% economically disadvantaged, but they do not allow this to hinder their love of learning.
I would love to provide them with opportunities to see the world through a variety of resources brought into their school home.
They deserve to be shown what lies ahead for them in this ever-changing world.
My Project
Students today do not learn through lecture. Engagement through a variety of stations, will allow students to feel successful. Whether working individually or within a group, students will be excited to learn and be fearless when it comes to testing time through these intervention activities. The use of activity stations also allows an opportunity for the teacher to engage with struggling students in order to further direct and re-teach a concept or skill if necessary. With a variety of reading texts to broaden comprehension skills, students can feel confident when reading and answering questions. With the vocabulary activity stations, students can continue their love for learning new words and expanding their word knowledge. Context clue bingo will allow students to focus on understanding meanings while playing a favorite game of Bingo! Who doesn’t love some friendly competition? Help me provide my students with the necessary tools to feel successful!
