This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My band students are thoughtful, motivated, and have a love of music and the human connection it can bring. They are developing listening skills, learning how to contribute at an individual level to an ensemble collective, and learning HOW to learn through self-analyzing. The personal and social development that comes with being a member of our program will be carried with them for the rest of their life.

My Project

These materials will be used on an individual level for keeping steady pitch, improving intonation, hearing chord structures, and for general rehearsal and practice. We currently have 2 Harmony Directors and 3 ensembles that rehearse at the same time. Acquiring one more Harmony Director would help our concert ensembles rehearse at maximum efficiency. The classroom set of tuners will help all of our students become more aware of their individual pitch and how it fits in with the ensemble sound. The tools will be used daily and will be kept in great condition.
