Mr. Pittman from New Orleans LA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need this machine which will create visuals, manipulatives, probs, and charts to assist with learning at all ages and abilities.

Our city is steeped in history and tradition. However, historical objects in an elementary school building are sometimes a safety hazard. The students at our public Creative Arts School make amazing works of art, but they are currently unable to have this pieces laminated since the old machine died.
Our students are amazing.
Many of them come from homes where they will be the first of their family to attend college or university. Many come to us 1-3 years below grade level and before leaving they are on or beyond grade level! We are in school every day from 7:30-5 because every second counts and every second is needed to inspire, motivate, and enrich the lives of these future leaders. Our school focuses on core content subjects, but unlike other area public schools, we are a Creative Arts school - offering classes in World Music, Dance, Drama, Choir, Band, and more!
I'm requesting a laminator machine. This piece of equipment will be used by all faculty to create charts, posters, and props, as well as to preserve works of visual art made by our scholars. Although this may seem like an expensive item, I believe that because of the fact that it will be around for years and that it will be used by most members of the faculty, that it is actually a completely worthwhile investment.
Preserving the artwork made by students can be THE difference in the artistic development of a young mind.
We throw away so much paper and lose so many amazing works of art due to damaged paper. Also, all teachers will be able to use this for mathematics charts, science experiments, etc...
