Help me give my students a laminator and plastic sleeves to protect their vocabulary cards as we all share them in the class. My refugee and immigrant students always appreciate basic school supplies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 100% newcomers to the US. Not only is this their first year in the United States and their first exposure to speaking English, for most of my students, this is their first time in school - period.
Most of my students, currently, either come from refugee settlement areas such as Afghanistan and the Congo where wars have ravaged their countries for many years.
Also many of my students are the immigrants you have seen coming from the "Northern Triangle" - Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Saying that, they are all very resilient, happy, precocious and ready to learn, and at our school we are a trauma sensitive campus designed to give them that starting point they need. We meet them where they are and do our best to get them ready for the "next" school where they will be working alongside their American peers for the first time.
My Project
I teach at a school that specializes in literacy intervention to help all our refugee and immigrant students take their first year to work on their language skills. They will use the pencils and markers everyday since they rarely are able to bring their own supplies. The lower level kids will use the letter easels to work on their spelling. The laminator will come in handy to coat the vocabulary words and use and reuse them everyday. Let's give them every basic need so that doesn't have to be in the way for them to take advantage of the education.
