My Students
Kindergarten is THE place to be! We learn so much in kindergarten that sets the foundation for a love of learning for our lifetime. I team with another Kindergarten teacher, and we have about 30 students.

Our students live in an urban area and most come from low income families. Many have been impacted by poverty and trauma, even at this very young age. Our vision this school year is to develop and build a strong sense of community and citizenship.
My Project
We want to make a strong finish with our kindergarten students. Refreshing supplies and adding new ones to increase their sense of independence is important. We would like our students to have the opportunity to explore new materials and instill a sense of responsibility for them to take care of their own supplies.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of the type of materials and supplies they can use.
By providing exciting and new school supplies and craft materials, our rising first graders will be more engaged in learning and take pride in their work.
