My Students

We are in a small city in North Carolina. There is a diverse population of cultures, ethnicities and income levels. Many students are from working class and/or immigrant communities. There is great support from the community, but minimal financial support from the local school system. We fund raise to support our financial needs. I hope to ease the fundraising burden by using Donors Choose.

Students share school-owned equipment which needs updating and replacing periodically.

Several students would benefit from this project.

My Project

Many of our students do not have the basic supplies needed to succeed in the band class. Some of our students from lower socio-economic backgrounds do not have easy access to everyday items such as reeds and valve oil. The funding of this project will ease the burden of parents that are working several jobs or have difficulty getting these items for their students. There is no funding for the band program in our local school system. All funds used are raised by the students. This project will also ease the fundraising burden on students. This is a small way to help parents and students!
