This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Playing with a fundamental clarinet tone quality is essential to musical development. Before students can grasp the emotion that music conveys they have to develop the sound that is necessary to draw audience members in.
Students are 9th through 12th grade students who marvel at their opportunity to develop musically.
They are strong academic students and look to find balance through co-curricular course offerings such as classical music. They are young vibrant personalities that enjoy attending school because of the many opportunities that are presented within.
My Project
The students will be utilizing the clarinet reeds and ligatures to build sound musical technique. The materials will help us when we present concerts for the school and the surrounding community. After the students render concerts they will share their experiences with younger students (elementary and middle) in hopes to encourage them to participate in their music program.
Donations to this project will significantly impact the lives of not only the students in the music program but the entire school community.
For years the students have been able to provide meaningful service with limited resources. This is their chance to soar to new heights in their musical outreach.
