My Project

I come from a very diverse school. We have many different languages spoken and many other cultures represented by our student population. We are a completely free breakfast and lunch school. We are located just outside of a joint military base. We serve a high number of students who have parents in the military. The students are so eager to become active learners and problems solvers. Trash waste from plastic water bottles is a huge problem.

My students face many adversities in their life and constantly work to overcome and exceed their expectations of what they are capable of.

With the onset of Covid-19, we have seen an extreme uptick in the amount of trash we produce. One way to help reduce the carbon footprint is to get replacement filters for our water bottle refill station. This way, students can safely refill their water bottles touch-free and save on plastic throw-away bottles and cups, especially since drinking fountains are in the hallways. Water during the day is a must for healthy bodies to learn, but all the trash is unnecessary.

Please help us work towards reducing not only our carbon footprint but the trash we find lying around everywhere. You will also be helping to teach the students of tomorrow how to make the world cleaner and better for everyone while keeping them safely hydrated.
