Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a predominantly low socioeconomic community in a school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast, free lunch and free early supper.
The school offers the most stable, safe, and comfortable environment for my students to gain knowledge through learning.
As 21st century learners, my students show an excitement for new innovative ways of learning. One way to introduce them to a new experience is by learning composting. This will open my students' curiosity to better help Mother Earth and to be active and eco-friendly students for our school and community.
My Project
My students learning will be greatly impacted from this project. My students will learn about reducing waste, reusing, and recycling goods. Too many times I've seen my students dump their breakfast in the trash cans and this project will allow this madness to end.
This time my students will learn and put to practice the concept of reducing and recycling their food leftovers into the compost bin.
My students will also engage in recycling paper goods, cartons, and leaf collecting at school.
My students will engage in proper compost management and proper care for the earthworms as they assist in the composting process. Your help and support would mean the world to my students.
