My students need a laminator and pouches to create reusable products so that there is less waste over time. They are concerned that important papers cannot easily be saved for future students.
Our students are very environmentally conscious and don't like when the students and I create helpers for them that aren't able to get reused (not laminated). They keep asking me to laminate these helpers, but neither the school nor the teachers have that in their budget.
We are a first-year charter school in Texas that is currently Kinder through 7th grade.
We have limited funding and just don't have the resources available to purchase a laminating machine and supplies. Our students are incredibly creative, and love creating helping aids to use in the class.
My Project
I am requesting a laminating machine and some laminating pouches so that the 4th and 5th grade students and teachers can create some reusable class help sheets. It can be used not only in science and social studies for informational booklets, vocabulary practice, games and student created helpers, but also can be used for Math class and English Language Arts.
Please assist us in being able to use "created" helpers and to keep our campus more environmentally friendly.
In our city, we cannot even recycle without paying an independent contractor to do it for us. Our students and my fellow teachers would be excited to be able to create things that are durable enough to last for many years and affect the lives of hundreds of students.
