Our classroom is a place where hard work and personal involvement are key. Our 28 students are encouraged to engage, personal stories are part of the learning, and all subjects are integrated. We laugh every day, but get a lot of learning done!
My students are energetic, vocal, and enthusiastic.
They love to have academic conversations, do group research, and in all ways share the work of learning. They also can't wait to 'take the floor'! Our school works hard on our 'STAR' traits - Safe choices, Take care of myself, others, and my school, Accept responsibility, and Respect all!
Our school throws away so much paper! Honestly, about 95% of our trash is recyclable paper. Unfortunately, city recycling does not contract with our school district to serve our school.
But we are resourceful!
We have drive and commitment! We can make a difference! Our kids started a school-wide recycling program to promote awareness and instill sustainibililty practices.
To fully realize this program, we need to supply sturdy, large recycling bins to classrooms and offices. This way kids can easily take out the recycling without worrying about boxes breaking and paper littering our campus.
This project will have an impact in our school, and hopefully long-term choices for our students.
