Many of my students lost their homes and contents as well as their school during Hurricane Harvey. My students all read below grade level which often makes them underachievers. I want my students to become lifelong readers, so I want them to have access to as many different kinds of books as possible. Each year I try to expand my classroom library.
While we were able to save many items, the furniture that stores the items were lost.
We are receiving donations of supplies and even some books, but we have no place to store them.
Hurricane Harvey devastated our small town. Many of my students lost their homes and all the contents as well as their school. We are currently housed and sharing the local high school campus. We hope to return to our campus next month although not all repairs will be made when we return.
Most of us lost our classroom furniture.
I was able to save most of my classroom library, but lost the book shelf where they were housed. We lost all of our cabinets and cabinet tops, so I have no where to place the students' papers, supplies, and organization equipment.
