My students need 6 iPads in the class so they can be successful. After Hurricane Harvey, most of my students lost their homes and they find school a pleasant place to stay.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My biggest challenge is finding ways to keep my students focused and engaged during class instruction. We are limited to classroom experiences, and I want to make the most out of each learning experience. My classroom is very unique. We have a wide variety of different personalities and academic learning styles. Each day I am able to see the lack of motivation in my students.
Teaching students in a low socioeconomic Title I school can be a challenge.
My students come from low-income families who are unable to support or provide them with learning experiences, such as going to museums. My students lack motivation and at times are unprepared for learning. They demonstrate their best work through alternative seating learning, where they are able to choose a different part of the classroom to complete their assignments. My students enjoy learning, but when there are no supporting materials to engage them, they start to lose the motivation we had built during the lesson. Most of my students are better learners when they are given the opportunity to choose their comfort zone around our classroom.
My Project
With Hurricane Harvey, my students lost a lot of instructional time. Technology (iPads) will help my students recover some of that time by using different math and reading apps. My students do not have technology resources available at home. Some of them lost everything during Harvey. At our school, my students have access to technology 55 minutes per week and they really enjoy applying, practicing and extending concepts already learned in class. These iPads will provide my students with countless opportunities to read books and also provide interactive tools to support and track their progress.
This project will definitely improve my classroom by enhancing my students' learning.
I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation. I love the idea to incorporate technology into my class. Education with technology is crucial nowadays.
As mentioned in my project, my class has had a hard time with Hurricane Harvey and most of my students lost everything. The school has become their new home. My students really enjoy reading books on the computer, play with math games and activities, some of them are more curious than others and investigate a little more navigating on the internet.
With these iPads, my students that are below level, on level, and beyond level can practice in different ways their struggling areas. With the use of technology, they can expand their knowledge. Again I want to thank you for your very kind support.
