Recording National History Day Project Interviews
Help me give my students an iPad that we can use to record interviews with experts and primary sources for our National History Day Projects.
My students are working on developing solid research and intervewing skills for historical research, which will be developed into projects around the theme of "Triumph and Tragedy."
One important aspect of the projects are primary sources.
In order to build the best projects possible, we need four mini iPads that we can use when interviewing primary sources. We have tried phones but they do not always work correctly. Having the mini iPads will help us to have a much higher quality of recorded interviews for students to use in their projects, which include documentaries and web sites.
Having an iPad to record our interviews on will raise our level of understanding and analysis of our projects. We work hard for each project (22 of them) to have an interview with an expert or primary source.
Being able to record our interviews on a iPad will make a huge difference in the quality of our final projects for History Day.
As middle school students we take notes as our experts or primary sources are being interviewed but being able to watch and rewatch these interviews will raise our level of understanding for our projects. This will make a huge difference.
