My Students

Were you in high school choir or band? I was and I still listed to my old performances. We are asking for a donation of microphones to make this possible for us. My choirs will not only have memories to last a lifetime, but they will also be able to improve their singing by evaluating themselves.

We have 5 choirs totaling 125 students.

They received superior performance ratings at the Florida Vocal Association Music Performance Assessment. The compositions performed were Ave Verum Corpus by William Byrd and Love is Life by Jackson Hill. At the 2011 Prism Concert, they performed Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, Toto's Africa, and Because by The Beatles. In 2011-2012, they performed Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata, Handel's Messiah, Faure's Messe Basse, Schubert's Mass in G, and a fully staged version of Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas.

My Project

We will be able to record ourselves at our concerts, so that we can evaluate them afterward. It's important for the students to hear the improvement that they demonstrate throughout the year. They will also be able to keep these memories for years to come.

Our choirs are very close-knit.

They are also a very musical and artistic group. The donations received for this project will allow them to improve their artistry and remember it forever.
