Help me give my students headsets for recording their speech and for listening to their classmate's multimedia presentations, and help give us adaptors so we can use them on both computers and iPads.
Each day, our students engage in discovering, exploring, and creating new things in the world around them. They are learning about the world, asking questions to drive our knowledge and wonderings further, and developing the competencies to accomplish their dreams.
Most of the students in our school are multilingual.
Our students are learning to understand, speak, read, and write English to talk about math, science, social studies, and language arts. They enjoy learning and interacting with peers, and collaboratively building their knowledge of language and learning.
My Project
Headsets with headphones and microphones that can be moved close to the mouth will allow our entire class to record oral academic responses, explanations, and multimedia presentations on the same day by substantially reducing the volume of the two dozen other students in the background. Headsets will also make it possible for the entire class to engage in listening to each other's recordings without the background noise of other computers or iPads. Clearer recordings through microphones near the mouth and headphones for listening will make it easier for students to listen to their classmates' presentations and pick up terminology and phrasing they can use to improve their academic talk as they explain ideas, concepts, and creations in math, science, social studies, and literature. Adapters to go with the Plantronic headphones we already have and the 2 we are ordering, plus the adapters that are part of the Mpow headsets will allow us to use the headsets both in the computer lab and with iPads in our classroom.
