Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My student love music and love to sing and play instruments! Mrs. Gosset's Music Room is always highly engaging and full of joyful energy. We incorporate our standards of learning into fun activities, games, and performances so kids learn with excitement.
Students at my school live in a high poverty area and our school is a safe place where they get the life support they need.
I work hard to create a safe, fun space in the Music Room where kids can leave their troubles at the door and enjoy themselves through Music.
My Project
Each year, every 4th and 5th grade student learns to play Recorders in our Music Class. Many of these Recorders are now broken and falling apart. "Hot Cross Buns" was not meant to be played on a broken Recorder!
With very few of our students able to afford Recorders of their own, I work to have a good Recorder for every student to use.
We have been able to use the ones we have now for about 5 years. However, time and lots of kids are just wearing them out.
Your donation will help to purchase a brand new Recorder of their own for these students to use while in Music Class. The joy on their faces is warming to the heart as they see music come alive in their hands!
