This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

After 2 years of remote learning due to the pandemic, students need social and emotional learning to reconnect to each other. My students need to learn how our emotions impact our learning. My students need to learn how to be social again with their peers. The materials I am asking for will help them to spark conversations with each other and create amazing things. The games, play-doh, and magna-tiles will help students learn to share, communicate what they need, and have fun again together- not 6 feet apart. Students will use the wobble stools to get extra energy out by being able to move while learning. The SEL, diverse, mindfulness and character education books will help the students see real examples and ways to self regulate and be mindful of themselves. Students will be able to know how to speak with one another and to play together again. The First Graders will grow so much this year!
