I am lucky enough to teach a diverse and loving community of Kindergarten students who get to experience the joy of learning through our various PBLs (Project Based Learning experiences). Our elementary school is the first State Certified STEM and STEAM school in Georgia. As well, in the spring of 2019, we received our AdvancedED STEM Certification.
My students act, dance, build, write, and design daily to express their learning.
A large portion of my students are English Language Learners. I love being able to work with these students as they begin their journey as lifelong learners. They teach me daily the importance of humor, humility, and hard work.
My Project
These toys and tools selected will allow my students the all too important time for discovery and play that can be lost during a curriculum packed day. Play is such an important part of learning, and I don't want my students to miss out on this instrumental application of social, emotional, science, and math skills due to the COVID pandemic.
In an effort to help my students find peace and joy during an uncertain time, I am asking for donations to purchase chalk, jump ropes, and magnifying glasses to help them play while being socially distanced from their peers.
Each student will receive their own backpack to carry their toys with them outside. This lets me keep them safe and bring some fun to the school day!
