My students strive to give me their personal best academically. We work together as a team to ensure that we treat each other as a family. We have been patiently waiting for our new building to be complete. During the month of December, my students willingly gave up their indoor recess (due to inclement weather) to help me pack up our classroom. We will be moving into a brand new school when they return on January 3rd, 2020!
As a student, I used to LOVE recess, I want my students to experience recess the same way!
I used to find so many things to do outside! I would like to recreate this wonderful memory for my own students through the use of outdoor games and equipment for recess.
My students receive free breakfast and free lunch at school. They each are rich in curiosity and kindness. I would like the opportunity to repay their kindness by showing them how to play outdoor recess games that I grew up playing. I would like to show them that being outdoors can be safe, rewarding, and fun.
My Project
When I was a child, I loved recess. I would like each of my students to have the same recess experience that I had. I would like to create this wonderful time for my fourth grade students with outdoor games and equipment to use during their recess time. Our new school has a beautiful playground for the students to use.
I would like to enhance this outdoor space with items such as jump ropes, frisbees etc.
These items will help build coordination as well as small and large motor skills. My students will also gain energy and build their endurance through movement and exercise while at the same time, have fun!
