Sacramento is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and my kindergarten classroom reflects that. My 24 students come to me with a variety of experiences, which enriches our classroom for all students.
Our Title I school is small, close-knit, and urban.
Roughly three-quarters of our school population qualifies for free/reduced-price lunch. My kindergartners teach me just as much as I teach them. I strive to create a classroom in which all students are valued and have a sense of belonging. I have a great group of kids!
Recess is important. Playing at recess can help children be more attentive and productive during class, increase problem-solving skills through interaction with other students, and improve fitness.
We need a variety of recess equipment to keep the students engaged, active, and socially involved with their peers.
The items on this list cover many types of play-- solitary play, partner play, and group play. Hula hoops, balance rocks, platform stilts, and an assortment of ball sets will help students gain both gross motor skills and social skills.
Our kindergarten team knows how necessary recess is for the students. Please help us create a wonderful outdoor recess environment to help every child thrive.
