My students live in a neighborhood in Arkansas that has a combination of low income and middle-income families. The families our school serves place a high value on education and are eager to have their children come to our school.
We are lucky to be participating in a recess pilot program this year.
Kids learn through play, and we need things to play with. Recess is all about unwinding, taking a mental break, and distressing. With the right toys, students can also explore, problem solve, and improve social skills while playing.
My Project
Our students are lucky enough to have 45-60 minutes of recess a day! However, the weather doesn't always cooperate for outdoor play. These games will give kids a lot of fun when the weather keeps us indoors! I know they will love playing classic games like checkers, Uno, Perfection, and Trouble. They will be able to move and play while learning to juggle scarves!
Kids need to play with their friends, laugh a little, and have fun so they can be recharged and ready to learn!
Please help us equip every classroom in our school with some great recess toys and games!
