My Students

I teach an amazing group of first graders. Our school is low income and parental involvement isn't where it should be. Food is a valued piece of the daily puzzle. Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. I teach at a Title One school in South Carolina where eighty-five percent of our students receive free lunch and one hundred percent receive free breakfast.

My Project

I am asking for basketballs and kickballs for my fabulous first graders. When they go to recess, due to Covid-19, we have to play on a blacktop away from the playgrounds. We have 2 basketball hoops and a kickball area for them to play. It would be amazing if we could have the balls that we need for the children to play with each other and learn about teamwork. Please consider donating to help out our cause. Recess is a crucial part of our school day. It's a time for our students to learn social skills as well as working as a team.
