Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The children at our school are truly amazing. They are faced with many challenges but are always ready to tackle the tasks that await them with smiles on their faces.
They come to school every day prepared to learn and meet new challenges.
They represent different cultures, however, stand together as a school community. Our children and staff are dedicated to their education but sometimes are met with the difficulties of lack of resources.
My Project
My students need new recess equipment. The students go outside for recess every day, however, their equipment is limited and outdated. The balls deflate easily and many of the hula hoops are bent.
Recess is an important part of the school day.
Often it is the only exercise that our children receive. The equipment will not only be used by my class, but by the entire school community. Your generosity will help over 600 students this school year alone.
The students love jumping rope and shooting basketballs. Having various balls, jump ropes, and hula hoops will help my students explore new games and activities while getting their needed exercise.
