Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Literacy is beyond important. It is the foundation of any subject and a gift my students will carry far after I'm gone. “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.” – George R.R. Martin.
My students are amazing, inquisitive individuals.
They're sweet and always find a way to brighten up even the darkest of days. Most of them come from low-income households and many have only recently come to the country.
I want to have the chance to give them the gift of books and basic classroom essentials!
My Project
This pandemic has had many effects on our students, more importantly on their mental and physical health. They became accustomed to lives behind a screen and now yearn for the physical activity they had been deprived of for so long. By having the recess equipment requested, they can engage in organized sports during recess in order to keep their bodies and minds healthy and running. This ensures their time outside is purposeful and they are fully engaged during their recess! Help me help them by giving them the greatest gift of all: health!
