My school is a Title I School and like many other schools across the county, most of the children come from low income, poverty-stricken homes. Each and every child receives breakfast and lunch daily at no cost. Many live in low-income housing, hotels, and some are even in shelters. For many in my class, English is their second language and some have special needs. With that being said, they all love to come to school and want to learn. They deserve all the resources and fun we can give them.
My students are absolutely some of the most charming, and sweetest group of kids I have had the privilege of teaching and oh how they love to make me laugh.
These kiddos come in the door ready to learn and have fun. They will laugh, cry, hug, giggle, play, and learn all in one place: their classroom. Therefore, I am eager and ready to help each of them have the very best kindergarten experience ever!
My Project
Thanks to wonderful supporters like you, our class has been given some amazing phonics activities and outside recess equipment. Awesome outdoor games and "toys" and fun games and activities to help them learn to read.
Unfortunately, storage and transport has become a problem, but what a great problem to have right!?
We are in need of a cart/wagon to haul the balls, Hulahoops, jump ropes and other outside games to the blacktop. When the playground is wet we head to the blacktop and drag a large bucket of activities with us. This container is heave and awkward to carry. The wagon I have requested will be easy to pull out AND it is a great place to store the activities in the classroom!
The other plastic containers will hold all of our amazing literacy activities. I will label each container and the kids will have easy access to what ever they need. These items will make life a lot easier for my students and myself!
