My students are full of joy and curiosity. They truly love our school and community because we all do our best to make sure our students have what they need at school to feel safe.
Where my students are from, feeling safe, having healthy food to eat, and having people looking out for them is their reality only at school.
I teach at a Title I school in Houston. Although many don't have much at home, they are willing to give you everything at school: their love, their time, their hard work, and lots and lots of hugs!
My Project
This has been an unusual school year for both my students and I. After Hurricane Harvey, we were relocated to an abandoned building and recently we received the news that we will be relocated for the second time.
My students would benefit from a new, leveled classroom library to keep them engaged and excited about reading!
The new library and book bins will make our second move an easier transition and give us all something to look forward to in this stressful time.
These resources will allow my students to continue to grow as readers and be better prepared for first grade despite our circumstances!
