My Students
We need supplies lost to Hurricane Harvey.
Our Kindergarten class has been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
I teach Kindergarten in Port Arthur, Tx. Before Hurricane Harvey hit our area, I had the opportunity to meet some of my sweet students, but because of the damage caused by flood water, many students have experienced loss of items. We are a Title 1 school and many of our students are from low-income households.
Please, help us have a successful school year full of learning.
Thank you!
My Project
My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I teach in a Title 1 low-income and high-poverty school district.
My classroom library was ruined from flood waters due to Hurricane Harvey.
Through literacy, students can learn about all subject areas and reinforce skills already learned such as the alphabet, social skills, rules, numbers, counting, and social studies topics.
These books address multiple skills taught in class as whole group instruction.
These books also go along with the curriculum and lessons each day, further building the students understanding through visual and auditory learning.
My students, English language learners, will also benefit from hearing new words each day, along with new vocabulary and listening to a fluent reader!
