My students live in a small community in Central Ohio. Over 56% of our students are living in poverty. Our school, like others, is trying to provide our students with the best education possible and help set them up for life long success. We have been doing this by trying our best to teach to different learning styles, by individualizing learning and incorporating technology and project based learning whenever possible.
My school has recently switched to a hybrid educational model to engage, challenge and enrich our students in the learning process through technology and project based learning curriculum.
Students are constantly changing and so are we.
My Project
After reading Ms. Bilello's project I knew it was time to get a robotics club up and running at my school. I started my club last month and just like her I have experienced a growth in the club that I wasn't expecting and am in need of more materials! We have found in our club that the jimu robots are the best for our needs. That is why we are requesting more of these robots. We are also asking for additional parts for the ones that we have already purchased. Having a place for the students to go after school has impacted them positively. The club has also sparked their interest in technology based activities which will hopefully carry over into their career choices.
