I teach at a public school in South Carolina. My classroom is very diverse with students coming from a wide range of backgrounds. We love to explore the world around us in my room. Whenever possible, I try to provide authentic experiences and bring our studies to life. We do not always have the resources I would like to make my lessons as engaging as I can imagine them being. For this reason I am just asking for a little help that may benefit my students in ways we will never see years down the road.
My Project
My classroom is sadly lacking in quality books to go along with our life science units. I love to encourage reading in my classroom, and I often find that students are more likely to engage with books that I can tie to other things we are currently studying.
These are not your average science books; I have taken extra care to choose award winning books with incredible artwork and an over the top cool factor in hope of getting my students excited about reading.
It is my hope that these texts will help my student to fall in love with and really understand the the natural world and the STEM subjects as we work through our science units.
