This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are hard working kids. They really want to learn and do their best in school. Our school is a Title I school with one hundred percent of students receiving free lunch. Many of our students come to us without their basic needs met. It is our job to ensure our students have what they need to be successful. Our school provides a safe, welcoming environment for children.
Despite their challenges, our students deserve all the best we can offer.
My Project
I would love to bring real-world STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) tools to my students. I have carefully chosen very cool STEM activities for my students. I want my students to be able to experiment and problem solve especially when it comes to real-world, global problems.
The kits I have chosen are based on real issues around our globe.
In "Surviving the Quake: Engineering Kit, "my students will design structures to withstand earthquakes. In the "Global Challenges" kit students will find solutions for oil spills, water shortages, and the energy crisis. I cannot wait to see the awesome projects they will complete. Please consider donating to our class.
