Help me give my students paper, pencils, and erasers to complete their math projects for real-world application. We are currently focusing on integers and are working on an addition and subtraction project involving the spending of $1,000,000.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 7th through 9th graders in a low income area at a school that helps students to enter college with a 100% rate of graduation. In my mathematics courses, we focus on skills that students can relate to their everyday lives.
They often struggle to see the importance of what they are learning at school on a daily basis, so we focus on how these skills are vital for their present lives and for their future.
They often work on real-world projects to be able to apply these essential skills.
My Project
Students will use pencils, erasers, and paper to explain how they will spend one million dollars within 10 dollars. They are required to list specific items and where they are buying them from. Students are allowed to use discount coupons to show how they can calculate percentages, as well.
Students will use all skills from our unit on integers to understand the realities behind accounting and trying to spend one million dollars with accuracy.
Students must demonstrate their ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide through the use of a table listing all items. Our projects will then be displayed on the bulletin board in our classroom.
