My Students

My students are happy to be in school, they love reading and math. They have unending energy and smiling faces.

They come from families that don't always have resources to purchase items other than basic needs.

My students know our school is a safe place for them and by providing as much as we can in supplies and resources I hope we can make a difference in their lives. In this ever changing world I hope they look back some day and remember how much Dirigo helped them get what they needed.

My Project

We are constantly reinventing ways as interventionists to meet the different academic needs of each student, sometimes having several different academic levels in one group at a time.

Teaching students to tell time and count money in today's world of everything electronic is quite a challenge.

Hands on clocks and coins are an important part of teaching these skills. We hope to instill the importance of this in the outside world.

So many children never have the opportunity to use hands on manipulative, they need time to learn through play. This is the best part of teaching any difficult math concept.
