My Students

My students are energetic eight-ten year olds. They love life and love learning about anything and everything they can get their hands on. We are a K-5 school on the outskirts of a town of about 60,000 people. Many of my students live in the neighborhood, but some live further away and are bussed to our school.

Third graders are passionate about learning at our school.

They thrive on hands-on learning, outdoor learning, talking with their friends about their learning, reading, math, science, social studies and supporting their kindergarten buddies.

I feel passionate about teaching my students each and every day. Our school is one of the top performing schools in our school district. This is because we have amazing students, parents, teachers and support staff.

My Project

Using DynaMath will help my students (all 3rd graders) with real-world math experiences through reading. This magazine will provide them a chance to read about real students working through real math-related experiences. As a school, we have a 30-minute block set aside to work on skills needed for each student. This magazine will provide me an opportunity to provide my students with extra math enrichment during their school day.

Reading and writing enhance math skills!

These magazines are high-interest reading for my students and will help connect subject areas. Many of my students do not realize that one of the biggest mistakes they make in math is reading something incorrectly. Connecting reading and math is essential for success. This subscription would help my students tremendously.
