"Look what I created!" These are the words that a student exclaimed after working with stem materials. My fifth grade is composed of twenty-five inquisitive students, many of whom come from a bilingual households and receive free or reduced priced lunch.
Our Title One school serves students in grades kindergarten through fifth, and we provide rigorous academics, amazing teachers, and a safe and caring learning environment.
Our goal is to prepare our students for success in middle school, high school, college, and the world. We strive to create strong, kind, caring citizens.
My Project
These materials will provide students with hands-on materials to create solutions to renewable energy challenges. Students will be using the K'nex materials in whole group lessons and centers. They can share them in class solutions and information with their families promoting a sense of community and global ownership.
A typical day in our classroom would look like complete chaos to someone just peering into the classroom.
They would see students reading, discussing, debating, researching and creating. My students are curious and motivated to pursue their learning goals. These resources will help them connect to the real world. The materials you help purchase will put ideas into reality, and students can test their solutions.
