Our middle school students range from grade 6 to 8 and are preteens and early teenagers. They are learning about themselves alongside the academic lessons we provide in school.
My students are fun-loving, inquisitive, excited students who come to school for all the right reasons: to grow as learners, to enjoy education, and to socialize with friends!
These 7th graders are on the verge of their teenage years and enjoying all of the excitement that comes with being a middle schooler. Life in the middle, between childhood and adulthood, gives them a chance to explore their own personalities and interests!
My Project
The Toledo Museum of Art is a great resource in our community for all sorts of visual literacy, global art, and educational experiences. It also includes an incredible collection of Renaissance art.
My students are pumped to learn about the Renaissance, but even this exciting time period can be boring when it's in a textbook!
We have students who would like to take a trip to our local art museum to see the art and artifacts of the Renaissance and Reformation, along with other pieces from our studies this school year. We will be able to provide our students with an all-important snack of pizza after school and depart with five adult volunteers to help kids safely and effectively explore the rich resources of our museum!
The last time we visited the Toledo Museum of Art, our students received many compliments from the docents leading the groups, and we were in awe of how engaged kids were even AFTER a long day at school! Students clamored for another experience, and we would love to provide them with the opportunity to see new parts of the museum with docent-led tours. By helping to fund this trip, you are igniting the love and curiosity of 45 students who won't forget this experience!
