Help me give my students a tool that will help them to get in touch with their inner strength and to be able to learn calming techniques in a fun new way with the emWay Pro.
Our school, grades 6-12, has a high percentage of students who go on to pursue a college or technical college degree upon graduation. This is our mission: prepare all students to be college and/or career ready. Our students are bright and eager to always learn. However, like any other school in America, we do have our challenges. Our students are growing up in a complicated world, trying to navigate: school, responsibilities, family life and friendships. For some, these friendships can cause unwanted stress and hurt feelings.
Some of our students are finding themselves facing bullying from various sources: face-to-face, gossip and social media (Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, GroupMe, What's Ap, Fortnight, etc.).
As adult leaders of the school, it's important for us to have the tools to be able to equip ourselves in addressing bullying.
According to StopBullying.gov, "between 1 in 4 and 1 in 3" students are bullied each day. That statistic just isn't acceptable. As a nation, we need to go from a reaction mindset to a prevention mindset.
My Project
Students at school deal with a variety of stressors each and every day. There are times when they do not know how to handle some of the things that are coming their way. While talking it over with their friends and family may be helpful, some students need more than this support system. Our school provides a variety of staff members with whom students are able to talk. However, sometimes even this isn't enough.
This is where the emWave Pro comes in!
This is a device which, when used in concert with a trained school counselor or school social worker, helps to teach students how to not only calm themselves down but the skill to calm themselves down anywhere/anytime.
