The fabulous middle school students in our mid-sized town are extremely computer-savvy! We are a 1:1 student to computer ratio district, which means they type faster, they understand computers better, and they are more eager to learn new technology skills!
We have all of the Adobe Software, version CS6.
This means that there is no end to our creativity. We have professional programs for video and short film creation and editing, digital art, animation, programming, digital photography, game development, web design, image manipulation, logo creation, layout, special effects, spreadsheets, 3D Design and much, much more!
My Project
These prizes for our film festival will help students get inspired to work harder than ever! We know that they have the capability to create amazing movies and animations, but...what will really move them to put in the time and effort to do so? Some really cool prizes :)
When we had our last film festival before the pandemic, a gaming chair was given to us as one of the prizes.
In that year, project were better than ever! We placed the chair on top of a table near the exit and every time students came in or out they were reminded of what they could win if they tried hard enough. This year, we want to do the same, but better.
A chair will be first place for each the "Best Ciniematic" movie and the "Best Animation."
A gimbal will be the 2nd prize, also for both categories. And the tripod with cell phone holder will bring the rear, for our third prizes.
Over the summer, we were given another wonderful grant to get Yeti microphones for our classroom. We were a little short. These 7 mics will fill the gaps where there are missing microphones for every single student in the 33-person classroom :) These mics will help to record voice-over audio for film narrators. They will also help students re-record dialogue where ambient noise is too loud, near the ocean, for example. In addition we can record foley, like clanking coconuts for walking horses with the great audio we'll get from these mics.
