This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to read. They are always sharing with me what book they are currently reading. My class is on different sides of the room when it comes to reading abilities. I have some that are on 4th-5th grade level and a few on 1st grade level. While I have enough books for my 1st grade level kids, I don't have enough for the higher ones that challenge/entice them.

I would love to do a novel study with books that my students can't put down!

I have some higher books already but not enough for a book club. Along with that, the books I have aren't that enticing or too difficult for them with the older language and style of writing. Having some more modern works or well-known works is sure to grab their attention and push them to challenge themselves with the multiple meanings of literature.
