My Students

My first graders are six or seven years old. They are naturally curious, and they have a love for learning. These students are warm-hearted and will brighten your day when you are having the worst day. They greet you with smiles and eyes full of wonder.

We are excited to build a new community of learners.

First grade is a grade level in which the students make a great deal of growth within the school year. My students are diverse learners. I am looking forward to using various learning tools to reach the needs of each of my students.

My Project

The materials on our wish list will help the first graders get closer to reading and language proficiency. These books will be used for read-alouds and close reads. Students will develop a love for reading by being exposed to high-quality literature that is of interest to them. Comprehension skills will improve as we discuss different elements of the stories.

We will build a community of readers.

I may not be able to read them every story that they would like me to read, but this way they have more options of listening to stories they are interested in. They will be able to build not only language skills, but also reading skills. We want to instill a lifelong love for reading!
