This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, and East Lake communities in Atlanta. Our neighborhood is changing quickly, giving us a diverse group of learners. Our school serves students in pre-k through the fifth grade. Our families are very involved and know most teachers and other students by name. I love my school. Our staff is a family; our students are bright, inquisitive, and deserve every opportunity to learn and grow. Thanks for stopping at my page, and I hope you will help.
My Project
After a fabulous year in kindergarten, I have been given the opportunity to loop with my entire class to first grade! In order to set my students up for success in moving on to the next level, I need supplies in my class that will continue to challenge them. My students are on several different levels, and the supplies selected for this project will allow me to differentiate to meet all their needs, as well as to foster independence in my classroom. Even though the school year has just ended, I am already looking forward to finding ways to get ready for next year in first grade!
