This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to our school with no knowledge of the proper technique for playing volleyball. They require the training materials to help them bridge the gaps of no experience and be competitive in the sport of volleyball.

The girls on the the volleyball team are passionate and want to succeed.

They show up ready to work at every practice and request extra time for training. Because our school system does not offer middle school volleyball, the girls are on a steep learning curve when they arrive at high school. They sincerely want to be competitive and make an impact in the district.

My Project

In order to overcome the learning gap for volleyball, the girls will use the training equipment to perfect their form for passing and hitting. It will allow them to better train their bodies on the correct placement and movement of their hands and feet when passing and hitting. The other equipment will be used to aid in hosting home games by making the net regulation and providing a way to keep score during the games.

Our Volleyball team has never been able to make it past the 1st round of the district tournament.

By improving their passing and hitting, they will become more competitive and put themselves in place to be a Cinderella story, and achieve success in a way that has never occurred for their team and school.
