My Students

Spiders, Sea Turtles and Sharks... Oh my! Help my third grade students become better readers with a set of 4 student CD players and a set of non-fiction science readers with read-along CD's.

My students are third graders in a Title I school that is located in rural Ohio.

They are curious and fun-loving. They are social and love to share their knowledge and experiences with the class. They are starting to become stronger readers and are gaining skills, along with self-confidence every day.

My Project

I am requesting 4 student CD players and a set of Gail Gibbons science readers with read-along CD's. Whenever technology is involved student interest and achievement increases. My students will love to listen to books using the CD players, they will become engrossed in the book and distractions will be at a minimum.

My current students and future students will use the center.

Having a listening center will allow students to hear the narrator modeling fluency in reading. Students, reading fluency, comprehension and self confidence will increase. This rise in comprehension will transfer to all subject and student achievement will increase across the board.
