Help me give my students hands on materials to learn vocabulary using the English Learner Games Library and learn how to build sentences in English with Sentence Building kits.

My Project

Since late February 2023, the three schools where I serve students have had ten students enroll that are considered newcomers. These ten students have been in the US one year or less! They are so excited to be in the United States and to learn English! However, learning a new language is difficult. Also, this number does not include the 7 Kindergarten students who were born in the US but have grown up in Spanish speaking families and now need to learn English for school.

My students are special because they have started life speaking Spanish and now are ready to learn English!

I want learning English to be fun and hands on! The English Language Learner Games Library and 100 ESL Board Games will provide hands on fun for learning English vocabulary words. The Sentence Building Board Game, Learning Sentences Flips Stand, and the Big Box of Sentence Building for Kids will again provide hands on learning through beginning to moderate levels of learning English. Once students build a sentence in English, they will also read and write that sentence in English, therefore, providing opportunities to practice English in 3 of the 4 domains: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Students can also practice listening to English as I say a sentence in English, and they use the materials to build the sentence. The Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card would give me the opportunity to buy materials for my newcomers that would help with phonics which are the building blocks for reading and writing as well as purchase other materials for my high level Multilingual Students to further their learning of the English Language from veteran teachers of Multilingual Learners.
