I teach language arts and social studies to two classes of amazing fifth graders. I get to spend half of my day with each class, and each day I witness their enthusiasm for learning firsthand. I work with about 55 students daily, and about one-third of them qualify for special education services.
Many of my students come from low-income families and, despite familial hardships, they do their best to come to school with a positive attitude, ready to try their best.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds, but in our classroom, we work to find common ground and accept one another.
Students today thrive when given the opportunity to utilize technology. We are so lucky to live in a world that has so many resources available to us to motivate and engage students, and I'd love to give my students the opportunity to use those resources daily.
These Chromebooks will be used for students to write stories, conduct research, and collaborate via google classroom.
Students will be able to more easily edit and revise their work, and they will be able to quickly receive feedback from me, their teacher. The Chromebooks will enable students to learn in exciting new ways, which is the dream of every teacher and student.
