This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a fine arts magnet school located minutes from beautiful downtown Chattanooga, TN. Our students are learning and growing through arts-based instruction. Each student receives instruction weekly in dance, drama, art, and music.
My first graders are eager, inquisitive and caring little people.
They are learning to be independent readers, writers, and mathematicians. My students enjoy learning about science and playing games against the teacher. We like to joke and laugh, but we also know the importance of working hard.
My Project
My students are engaged in teaching and learning each day. So much growth is expected in first grade. I want my students to enjoy the challenges placed in front of them and to look forward to the work placed before them each day.
One great way is through technology and that is why we need an iPad!
Students will be able to project their work onto our tv and discuss what they have learned. We will be able to watch short clips to extend and strengthen our learning. We can participate in whole class or small group activities with math apps to deepen understanding, record independent reading to increase fluency and the ability to take a short break with GoNoodle to recenter ourselves. These are just a few ways we will use an iPad for learning.
