Greetings! I am thrilled to have the amazing opportunity to teach a wonderful group of 5th-graders. The students at Majestic Fields Elementary School are highly motivated, creative, and fun-loving. They enjoy learning new things and are eager to participate in hands-on projects.
As a teacher, one of my primary goals is to create a classroom environment where my students feel welcomed, safe, and valued.
Once they have had these basic needs met, they are better able to focus on learning and becoming participating members of their classroom community.

My Project
As a first-year teacher, I am thrilled to be able to provide a friendly and safe learning environment for my fantastic, fifth-grade students. The supplies that I have requested will be used to meet my students independent learning needs and enable me to provide more hands-on learning activities in the classroom.
The books will help to build our classroom library and provide my students with an assortment of reading options, including a variety of reading levels and genres.
J.K. Rowling said, "if you don't like to read, you haven't found the right book." I hope to encourage a love for reading in my students by having a variety of books for them to choose from. If only one student learns to love reading after finding "the right book" in my classroom, it will all be worth it. Of course, I do hope MANY students learn to love reading in my classroom!
The supplies that I've requested for our classroom (scissors, colored pencils, and markers) will allow me to include more hands-on projects and integrate art activities into multiple subjects. The dry-erase boards will be used to keep my students engaged in whole and small group language arts and math activities. They will also allow me to check for student understanding in real-time so that I can make adjustments to instruction and meet my students learning needs.
